Once again Google has saved the day.
I've been looking for inexpensive, not disposable white tablecloths for the reception. Several searches proved that they were way too expensive. Tonight I dug deeper into Google and found a place that had a great deal on them.
I've been obsessing about tablecloths for a few weeks and am so glad that this is out of the way. I'll breath a big sigh of relief when they are delivered :)

Wedding stuff
I'm way late on the update to the countdown. Little over 2 months to go. Not much has been done this past month except for hiring a DJ, dress fitting, and Laura and Heidi booked their airline tickets :)
I was finally getting around to uploading pictures from the Kenny Chesney concert and came across this one. A little less blurry than the last.
Gotta love self portraits :)

Tigers game
Friday night we went to a Tiger's game. A friend of ours had a pair of extra tickets so we took them off her hands.
It was fun going again so soon since we had just gone a couple weeks before for my birthday.
They lost.
I'm starting to think that we're jinxing them. Normally we don't go to a game this early in the season.
Some photos from the game:

Just to give you an idea how far up we were in Section 336, Row 16.

One of the highlights was the Tiger's coach got kicked out

A bit blurry but here we are

A whole bunch of updates
It's been a busy, but fun, week. Lots of things going on and lots to update.
I don't have all the pictures uploaded yet so I'll probably post things out of order.
Today we did some shopping and picked up some deck/patio furniture.

Also discovered that one of the bushes near the fence to the backyard is a lilac bush that is starting to bloom:

Playoffs
I live in a hockey house.
If you didn't know the Detroit Red Wings are in the Stanley Cup playoffs right now. As I'm typing this up they're in the middle of the 3rd period against the Dallas Stars in Game 6.
One of the traditons I'm told is playoff beards. Jim and Chris have shaved but Zach is growing his playoff beard. Don't tell him but it reminds me of Shaggy from Scooby Doo :)
Tonight at dinner Jim realized that the reason Detroit lost the last 2 games is because he hadn't been drinking a Sam Adams Honey Porter beer during the game - 1 beer a period to be exact.
Tonight he's got his beer and so far it appears to be working. 4-1 in Detroit's favor.
Does your household have any crazy hockey traditions?

Birthday girl
Happy Birthday to me.
Today is a big one.
30.
I can remember when I was a little girl and 30 seemed so old. Now that it's here it's not really a big deal.
My birthday celebration started last weekend when I was surprised by Jim and the boys by being taken to Panera for breakfast and then to Detroit for a Tigers game.
We had a great time at the game even though they lost.
Today I took the day off work for my birthday. My day started by dropping Jim off at work then back home to get showered and ready to go to my first dress fitting.
Dress fitting went really well and I pick up my dress in July.
I grabbed lunch at McDonalds (free chicken sandwich with drink purchase today) and had a sweet tea and chicken sandwich then headed to the bank and then to get a pedicure. Picked Jim up at work and stopped in to see some of my old co-workers.
He took me to dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse and we split some cheesecake for dessert. Yummy.
After dinner we went to Costco to get a memory card for my brand new Canon Rebel digital camera - my birthday present from Jim!
Made a quick stop at his mom and dad's to drop off his dad's birthday present - we share the same birthday - then home.
So far this turning 30 thing isn't so bad :)

The invitations have arrived
It seems even more real now.
Our invitations and thank you cards arrived yesterday. They're pretty darn cute if I don't say so myself.
I just had to share this picture. My camera hog cat has to get into every.single.picture. I take.
I was taking pictures of the packages and invitations last night and, well, I guess he thought he was enhancing the picture :)

Antibiotics. Round 3
Tonight I start round 3 of antibiotics which will hopefully get rid of this lingering crud I've had since December!
A few weeks ago I had another double ear and sinus infection and was given my 2nd round of antibiotics with a prescription for a 3rd to start tonight.
I sure hope this will clear it all up.

Wedding Countdown: 4 months to go
Yes, I'm a few days behind on posting this. Things got a little crazy and I meant to blog but, being the procrastinator I am, said I'll do it later :)
In addition to everything mentioned this is what I've gotten accomplished:
- Decided on having the ceremony at the church, and picked the time
- Ordered invitations!
- Booked my wedding hair trial run appointment and my day of hair appointment
- Picked up the items to make centerpieces for the tables at the reception
- Got my veil and tiara
- Have a purse that matches my dress
- Wedding shoes (note to self: remember to scuff them up!)
- Made my appointment for my first dress fitting (May 15th)
- My bridesmaid decided on the style of dress she'll wear, just need to get it ordered.
I want to say there is one or two things I'm forgetting. If I think of it I'll add it to the list.

Mickey D's sweet tea
A few weeks ago commercials for this new Mickey D's (McDonalds) sweet tea kept showing. 32oz drink for $1.00.
Curiosity got the best of me one morning and I stopped on my way to work and got one.
Heavenly.
Not as good as Milo's but still good. Reminds me of Publix sweet tea.

My closet is filling up
I've been picking things up for wedding as I go and I put them in a box or boxes in the closet. It's starting to fill up!
The latest things to come in were the personalized napkins, cake top, and knife and serving set.
I ordered some wedding favors this weekend and I got the email confirmation they were shipped!
I also am thinking about ordering these (pearl/turquoise color) for my shoes to wear during the reception.
I've got about half a dozen pictures printed out of possible hairstyles to try out.
Other than that not much going on.

Outdated
Each time I log in to blogger I see my profile picture and think to myself that I really need to update it. One of these days :)
(Can you tell I really have nothing to blog about?)

So far no floaters
We got new fish (and 2 frogs) Saturday. They survived the critical 24 hour mark and I think they may live now.
A bit of back story - when Jim was moving (early Feb) he took the fish tank apart and put the fish in a bucket to be moved. All survived the move except one jumper. He landed on the kitchen floor.
The remaining 4 lived in that bucket on the kitchen counter for several weeks because we needed to get a tank stand.
Finally got a tank stand, set up the aquarium again, filled it up and then the waiting game began. Test water, try to balance Ph, lower ammonia, etc etc etc. Thought we had it ok and put the fish in.
Dead in less than 24 hours.
Oops.
A few more weeks go by - vaccum, add water, add water treatment. Think we have it set ok again. I picked up some fish and another frog. Fish lasted about 28 hours. Frog survived.
At this point I have decided I have a black thumb when it comes to fish and won't buy any more fish. I'll just buy frogs.
A week or so later frog died. We think he got too hot. The heater was heating up too well and we think he cooked.
Oops.
Did some more testing of water, got it figured out again and Saturday we decide to add 2 frogs and 4 fish.
So far so good. I think it's because I didn't pick them out :)
