Bunny goodies!

I took over organizing the bunny swap on ScrapShare and I was pleased to come home earlier this week and find my bunny box at my door!

I had an aweosme bunny who got me so many cute things, but my favorite things were my altered letter and my card! I got her permission to share the pictures - she does such great work! I am planning to put the card in a picture frame and I already have the letter up on my entertainment center :)

Thank you secret bunny!

Ticket scalpers

Last Friday Jim invited me to the hockey game with he and the boys since he had a few unused season tickets to trade it. The plan was to trade in the ticket when we got there. Turns out it was sold out completely. We debated for a bit about me just leaving and coming back to get them after the game or we could go out and ask some of the guys selling tickets outside what they wanted for them. If we could get a ticket I'd just sit whereever and then come down and visit during the breaks between the periods. (Is it periods in hockey? I almost typed innings but that's baseball lol)

I've never bought tickets from a scalper so I was feeling kinda naughty like we could get in trouble, but I ended up getting a general admission ticket for $20! In the section his season tickets are in there is usually a seat next to his 3 that is always open so I was able to sit there with them and enjoy the game!

Oh, and I got my soft pretzel fix too *wink*

Hoppy Easter!

If you are reading this I hope you had a great Easter weekend!

My day was very nice and pretty low key, the easter bunny brought me some chocolates and an umbrella because I keep taking someone's *wink* and a chocolate bunny and a cute pair of earrings.

Jim's parents invited me over for lunch and it was yummy! We had ham, potatoes and tons of other goodies. A very nice, relaxing day of good food and sitting around chatting and napping afterward.

After such a nice weekend I'm not really looking forward to going back to work.

Paid in full

I paid off 2 credit cards today and included nice notes asking them to please close my accounts and not to bother me anymore and dropped them off at the post office.

I have 2 more to go but I am on track to have them paid off by the end of the year then I tackle my car payment.

It's a very liberating feeling having 2 of those payments gone. I'm throwing the money I was paying on them to my next credit card and that should be done in just a couple of months! I just have had alot of little debts laying around that I could never seem to shake off.

Girly girl pampering

I got my first ever manicure tonight. My nails are finally grown out and staying grown out that I decided to splurge and treat myself to my first manicure. It was so fun and my nails are so pretty, I ended up with a french manicure.

I really wanted a pedicure too, but I just did my own home pedi a couple weeks ago so I'll wait until closer to my birthday when the weather is more likely to be sandal weather all the time and then treat myself, I haven't had one since last summer! *gasp*

It was fun to treat myself and it's nice to see my own real fingernails looking this nice!

Yep, I'm a girly girl.

Peeps

I love stale peeps. I got a package of yellow chicks this weekend and brought them home, opened the package, ate one and then put them up in the cupboard to get stale.

I tested them tonight and they are about 1 day away from being ready to eat!

Even though you can now get peeps pretty much year round, I always associate them with Easter so this is about the only time of the year I pick up a package or two.

Easily Enabled

First it was Sizzix, then Crocs ... now it's altered letters.

I ordered another pair of Crocs this weekend, they shipped today and should be here in a few days.

I wanted a pair of pink ones and what is better than pink? Pink Disney crocs!

Pink Disney Crocs

Then I decided I wanted to try my hand at altering letters ... and oh am I hooked! I can't believe how easy it is! Sunday I went to Michael's and got a couple 9 inch wood letters (the white ones for those familiar with this)one for me and one for my secret bunny in the Scrapshare bunny swap. About an hour later I was done and wanting to do more!

I hit Hobby Lobby and Michaels tonight for more letters and some more supplies and made 2 more! One of my co workers is having a baby and so I made one for her new daughters room and one for her son's room. I will bring them to work tomorrow and hopes she likes them!

I can't get the digital camera working so this is not one I made but here's an idea of what they can look like when they are done:

Altered letter

Now I need more letters and more supplies, this is so addicting!

Finally some warm weather!

It hit 75 today! WooHoo!

It's quarter to 10pm right now and it is 72 still outside. Abbie, Willow and I are enjoying this chance to have windows open and the ceiling fan going.

It gives hope that spring has arrived and summer is just around the corner! The forecast for the week shows 70 tomorrow then down to mid 50s and some storms. Long as it isn't snowing I'm not complaining!

Tuesday

Not much going on. Took Willow the vet this morning and he got neutered. I called to check on him this afternoon and they said he was ready to go home so I left a few minutes early to pick him up.

He's sleeping on the floor in the living room right now. I want to cuddle him but don't want to make him uncomfortable or hurt him by picking him up so I am leaving him be. He's such a doll.

When I went to get him this afternoon I told the girl I was there for Willow and she was like oh you're his mom, he's the cute gray tiger! He's pretty popular at the vet, what a ladies man *lol*

Not alot going on, watching American Idol and doing laundry. Really a quiet evening.

Vet visit

I took Thursday afternoon off for some mental health and to take Willow the vet. Hard to believe he will be 6 months old on Wednesday! He's gotten huge!

So we went to the vet, he's not real fond of the car ride, I think it's because he can't see out. Once we got there he got quiet and was looking around. One thing anyone that has met Willow knows is that he's not shy.

He was letting the girls at the front desk hold hiim and pet him and he was eating it up. What a ladies man :)

You would think that most cats/kittens would be scared at the vet and kind of hide while sitting/standing on the exam table, right? Not if you're one of my cats. Willow was ALL OVER the room, jumping from the table to the counter and back and forth and then sitting in the sink waiting for me to turn the faucet on so he could drink :) This is how the vet found us.

She said that he is a very healthy 6 pound, 12 ounce kitten and obviously not shy at all! He got his booster shots and some meds to get rid of some ear mites that just surfaced a couple days before I knew he was going in and he has an appointment to go back Tuesday to get fixed.

As we were leaving one of the other vet assistants said he was the cutest gray tiger she'd ever seen. I'm a proud kitty mom.

70 degrees!

(I realized I wrote this yesterday in Word and forgot to copy/paste into blogger until tonight)

Yesterday the weather was wonderful and 70 degrees. It felt great to not wear a coat and have the windows open. Everyone seemed to be in better spirits too ... it's amazing how much weather can affect you.

Today it's not as warm and it's in the 40s now but at least it's not snowing =)

Zoie

Zoie went to the big kitty box in the sky on Saturday. She was 13 1/2. She stayed with my parents after I moved away and each time I went home she still remembered me.

Her health started to decline a bit the last few weeks so Mom mentioned it to me so I was figuring it could be soon that she would need to be put down so she wasn't hurting anymore.

It's going to be strange the next time I go home to not see her there waiting for me.

Gonna make it after all

The weather has been awful lately and yesterday the sun came out! Today the sun is out and it's 48 degrees out. It's days like this that give me hope that spring will arrive and soon it will be warm out all the time.

I was out earlier and had the window down in the car and it felt good to have fresh air that isn't below zero air coming in!

Right now I have the slider open to get some air in and Abbie and Willow are enjoying watching the ducks walking across the still semi frozen late.

I think Spring is on it's way!

Tuesday night fights

I got to see a *real* fight tonight at the Griffins hockey game! Apparently the ones I have seen before were not the *real* hockey game fights. The game was pretty charged anyway and then I saw gloves and helmets get thrown down and next thing you know 2 guys are circling each other and getting ready to take their shots.

I'm used to seeing the ref's break up the fights so I was very surprised when they didn't and this fight went on for at least 2 minutes until it was broken up.

It was an exciting hockey night for me :)

These aren't the fights we saw tonight but here's an idea of what went on tonight.

This first one involves the player that was in the fight tonight (Adam Keefe) but this was before he came to the Griffins:

This player is actually up with the Detroit RedWings right now but he's usually leading the charge to fight and I've watched many a fight he's started:

Kenny Chesney

It's been awhile since I posted about Kenny so I figured it's time to talk about it.

I scored Kenny Chesney tickets! He'll be here May 10th and 11th at the VanAndel Arena here in town. There was a pre sale on Friday and Jim was able to get a pair of tickets. They went on sale to the public on Saturday so we decided to see if we couldn't get better seats then.

We got a *little* better seats than the ones we got Friday were for the second show. So now the dilemma ... what show to go to? First, second, or both?! =)
