I'm not a morning person, or a Monday morning person at that. I knew going in today that we would be short 3 people in our little Level 2 group which would have left 3 of us today, well one called in so it's just myself and one other person. And I am working till 8 tonight since the one that called in normally covers till the end of the night, which is ok, the extra OT will be good. The two of us have divided up the day and will see what we can do. It's 11:30 and so far so good.
I don't have much to blog about right now, just felt compelled to post. There isn't even anything really good in the lunchroom today for lunch ...
Macaroni & Cheese $2.50
Herb Roasted Game Hen $2.75
Broccoli
Carrots
Baked Potato
Spicy Black Bean Chili
Hearty Vegetable Beef Soup
Patty Melt $2.85
I may have someone get me something at Wendy's when they go out :)
Happy Monday!

Shopping-filled weekend
So this weekend has been a pretty good one as weekends go, would have been nicer if it was 85 degrees and sunny out, but I did wake up to the sun this morning so it's a start, I'm sure it's 85 degrees somewhere :)
Saturday I got up early and went to Dawnn's house to help get organized for the PJ Crop she was having that night, she had gotten chairs that morning and snacks and sodas and then she and I were going to get chairs and last minute items, like the ingredients to make Midori Sours :)
We got loaded up on chairs and goodies and went back to her place to get everything straightened up, organized and set up. Good thing we did because we didn't have an extra moment because everyone started showing up. It was alot of fun last night, I didn't get much cropping done only a couple pages but I did get some things organized and I just had fun hanging out which was great, I needed it! To read more about the crop last night, check out Dawnn's blog here: PJ Crop
Today (Sunday)I went shopping with my friend Jean. We had an agenda to get pants and shoes. Normally I don't do well clothes shopping and usually end up buying a purse to make myself feel better ... today I did well. We hit Lane Bryant first, found out it is Real Woman Dollars going on starting Wednesday, plus she had 2 cards for $25 off $50 or more. I got 2 pairs of much-needed pants (black and gray) and a cute new shirt to wear with new much-needed pants and a cute cute cute black shirt to wear when I actually go out. I was going to only try it on but told her if I do and it's cute then it means we have to go out some night to a bar or something! It's black see-through with button down and cute scallop around the neck and then has a black cami underneath. I went for it. Plus we have 40% off cards and Real Women Dollars so we are planning to go back next week and get some other things since they will be on sale then plus the coupons and dollars we have so we should do well next week!
We went in search of shoes, I struck out there nothing in my size but she got lucky. We have plans this week to go shoe shopping for me. I need some heels to go with my new pants since they are kind of long and a heel would take care of that.
That was really my weekend in a snapshot. Not a bad one at all.

Fast Cars and Freedom
As I mentioned in a previous post and Heidi has mentioned too about how we love kickin' song intro's. Well she and I have been talking off and on about this Rascal Flatt's song, Fast Cars and Freedom. For some reason I like the song and I haven't been able to really give a reason to her why as she is not a big fan of the group. Well I heard it on the way home tonight and besides liking the kickin' intro I just like the beat through the whole song. I still can't really put my finger on what about the song gets me, I was telling Heidi I like one line where he's singing "I'm on that gravel road, Look at me" and it just gets stuck in my head.
I guess I'm crazy :)Wait, I know I am crazy, I guess crazier *lol*

Beauty Ups
So after a dear twin outed me that I haven't blogged much and I most likely have several drafts not yet published I will admit she is correct :D I just haven't had alot of time lately to get on here and post. I've been really busy with work as previously mentioned. I am working on a huge project, I'm on the implementation team and when this is all approved and all the funding, etc comes through this will be something that is implemented global within the organization I work. This is great news and I think it will look well on my resume but for right now I am just swamped in work, conference calls, meetings and deadlines. But I thrive on the chaos of it all though and I have some good people on the team with me. Right now we are trying to get everything together for the demo that is being presented next week at the mother ship. I'm not going to the mother ship for the demo but it's alright because I have 3 or 4 other deadlines to meet by the following Tuesday so I will be plenty busy!
I was going to stay late at work and get some other work done on some of my lower priority projects but I really wanted to get my hair done and didn't want to have to wait till Saturday but figured I wouldn't get in tonight but decided to call. My lady I go to is on maternity leave, she just had her 2nd daughter a month ago, but the lady that is taking over while she is out was there and had an opening as long as I could get there right away. Say no more, I was off and running! I got highlights in my hair, a new cut with lots of long layers and the ability to make a flip (big change for me) and I got my eyebrows waxed for the first time! I've been thinking about it for awhile but I've been chicken to have it done because I didn't know how it'd look or how much it'd hurt! My stylist laughed and said "honey we'll fix ya right up, you're going to look so good no man will resist you!" Actually the whole eyebrow waxing process was not bad, I did hold tightly onto the chair arms but it didn't hurt anything like I thought it would and she did a wonderful job! I'm very pleased.
My reasoning for titling this post 'Beauty Ups' is because I feel that's what I've been doing this week, and this is what I used to call it when I was a little girl :) I would play 'beauty ups' at my grandparents house with my grandma. I remember distinctly one time I was wearing pearls, clip on earrings, and bright red lipstick and my grandpa was going to take grandma and I to the store and I refused to take off my beauty ups so I went with them just as I was, I just remember having bright red lips and getting a package of gummy bears from grandpa as a treat :)
This week I got my nails done, I got my hair done tonight, eyebrows done, I went to tan a few times this week (helps beat winter blah's) and I have this lip gloss Dawnn and I bought a few weeks ago along with a lip plumping gloss. It's kinda neat to treat yourself. I also booked my first time at a spa for the end of March with a few girls from work! I'm getting my first ever massage, a pedicure and I'm having my hair washed and deep conditioned and styled. I'm so excited. The last week and next month will be lots of 'firsts' for me in that respect :)

What age do you act?
I was talking with Heidi about this the other day about how recently I felt I was acting more of my age ... not that there is anything wrong with acting older/younger but lately I had been feeling like I was not really being a late 20s woman ya know? I felt really good when I was able to put work aside and other issues in my life aside last week when I went up to the casino with friends and then this week staying until late late, did I say late? hours of the night chatting with some wonderfully crazy co workers :D
This is close, I will be 28 in a few months. I'm glad it didn't say like 95 or something *lol*

Midori Sours
I think I've found a new calling in giving my reviews on drinks :D
I went up north in the FREEZING below zero weather (did I say it was cold out?) to the casino after work with some co-workers/friends. If I had hit it big I wouldn't be posting on my blog right now, I'd be on an island in the Caribbean. While there I had a few drinks at the bar with one of the girls and I ordered a Midori Sour and got her hooked on them too.
I have had them before, you can get them frozen or on the rocks, these that we had were on the rocks. They are so yummy if you haven't had one, I recommend trying it ... just remember not to drink and drive!
They have:
Midor Melon Liqueur
Whisky Sour Mix
Sprite or 7 Up soda
Maraschino cherries (I prefer to put some in the bottom of the glass and then add ice and the drink and then put a few cherries on a stick and put it on top of the drink.)
Add in all ingredients and give it a quick stir and pour over ice. Otherwise if blending, add all but cherries in the blender and mix.
Very yummy!

Thunder Snow!
I will say living in Michigan is wild weather-wise. The phrase, wait 10 minutes and it will change is true. Right now we have thunder snow.
It is very noisy and is raining hard and heavy right now. Here is a snippet of the forecast for later this afternoon and evening:
Tonight all precipitation will change over to snow. Some thunder and lightning may accompany the changeover - we call that thunder snow.
Craziness ... I hope the drive home tonight isn't terrible, otherwise I may stay here at work!
If you wanna see the radar and sympathize with me .... clicky

Marble Mocha Macchiato Review
I stopped this morning and got the Marble Mocha Macchiato. It was very good and I got a bonus! It came with a Marble Chocolate Stir Stick! Had white and milk chocolate mixed together into a neat little ball on the end of the stick to add more chocolate into your drink!
For those that aren't sure they like alot of coffee coffee this was not real heavy in the espresso, It started with white chocolate then steamed milk, velvety foam, an espresso shot, and then chocolate drizzle on the top. It tasted yummy! It's up there in my book with white chocolate mochas and carmel macchiato's, if you get a chance to get one, do it. It's so worth it!

Keith Urban concert review, according to the newspaper
I haven't had a chance to develop my film yet from Saturday's totally awesome and sold out concert but I am going to try and drop it off tomorrow if the weather doesn't get as nasty as they are saying.
This is a review that was in the Lansing State Journal about the concert ... my review will be posted as soon as I have pictures :)
Review: Urban electrifies sold-out crowd at Breslin
By Anne Erickson
Lansing State Journal
Fresh off a Grammy win for best male country vocal performance, Keith Urban played his pop-infused country to a sold-out crowd of 9,800 at the Bres-lin Center on Saturday.
It was the only Michigan date on Urban's current U.S. tour. (makes me so happy I went!)
Urban's appeal is massive, rivaling Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney in country popularity.
But he's not just a country boy. Urban's hit "You'll Think of Me" earned him fans from across the musical spectrum. The quiet vig-nette is piped out of adult contemporary and Top 40 stations. It's one of country's biggest crossovers to boot.
Sporting a casual, fitted, blue-gray T-shirt and jeans, the New Zealander opened with the spirited "Days Go By," showcasing slippery vocals and fun-loving charm. He played Urban favorites, such as "Where the Blacktop Ends" off 1999's self-titled disc and "You're My Better Half" from 2004's "Be Here."
Urban's talent is undeniable - not just his warm, mid-ranged vocals, but also those electrifying guitar chops. He tore out one guitar solo after another, howling and scratching on the six-string. "Rainin' on Sunday" was played against blue washed lights, with Urban showing off some '80s-esque guitar wailing.
Joined by a five-piece band, Urban's stage-show was packed with surprises. At one point, Urban picked up the drumsticks and handed the mic over to a few bandmates, who blasted out vocals on a version of Aerosmith's "What It Takes."
Even poised behind the drum kit covering classic rock tunes, there's no doubt Urban is 100 percent country. His twangy vocals tell stories of love and heartbreak in the classic country vein. Urban's sound straddles the line between simple country hooks and phrases, and catchy pop-rock. It's authentic, yet modern.
In the crowd, there were guys donning cowboy hats and girls wearing bubble gum pink "I love Keith" baby tees. There were signs with proclamations of love and silly sentiments ("You are my birthday present. May I join you?").
Urban chatted with the crowd. He even flew over their heads to play an acoustic set, including the hushed "Homespun Love," to the back of the arena.
More Urban highlights included "But for the Grace of God," "Somebody Like You," "These Are the Days." The quintessential heartbreaker "You'll Think of Me" left few dry eyes. His set included a three-song encore, in which Urban put on a green MSU T-shirt.
Urban's sweetie, Nicole Kidman, watched the show from behind the soundboard, disguised in a black baseball cap and black attire.
Country act Pat Green, best known for his country hit "Wave On Wave," opened the show.

Hormone Hostage
*giggle* I'm sure we can all relate!
The Hormone Hostage knows that there are days in the month when all a man has to do is open his mouth and he takes his very life into his own hands!
This is a handy guide that should be as common as a driver's license in the wallet of every husband, boyfriend, or significant other!!
DANGEROUS: What's for dinner?
SAFER: Can I help you with dinner?
SAFEST: Where would you like to go for dinner?
ULTRASAFE: Here, have some chocolate.
DANGEROUS: Are you wearing that?
SAFER: Gee, you look good in brown.
SAFEST: WOW! Look at you!
ULTRASAFE: Here, have some chocolate.
DANGEROUS: What are you so worked up about?
SAFER: What did I do wrong?
SAFEST: Here's fifty dollars.
ULTRASAFE: Here, have some chocolate.
DANGEROUS: Should you be eating that?
SAFER: You know, there are a lot of apples left.
SAFEST: Can I get you a glass of wine with that?
ULTRASAFE: Here, have some chocolate.
DANGEROUS: What did you do all day?
SAFER: I hope you didn't overdo it today.
SAFEST: I've always loved you in that robe!
ULTRASAFE: Here, have some more chocolate.

Happy Valentine's Day
... well for another 52 minutes :) I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day. I like the holiday I don't take the "It's a Hallmark Holiday" approach to it even though I haven't actually gotten things for Valentine's Day in several years. So today I wasn't expecting much, although sometimes it bothers me to see all the flowers and goodies being delivered at work.
I mailed a few Valentine's out and I always exchange goodies with Dawnn and I got a Valentine from my Grandma with some "Grandma Dollars" and a note to buy myself something :) I got myself Carrie Underwood's CD, Some Hearts. (she was winner of American Idol last season).
Today at work I came in to find a beautiful red rose on my desk, and then realized all of the ladies in the department had one on their desk. Come to find out it was from the men in our department, one of them had the idea to get all of us ladies a rose. All the men got together and organized it and put in money and kept it a secret! Such a sweet thing they did! I also got a few valentine's and some candies that I didn't need to eat and a cute notepad with pink ribbon from Dawnn.
I ran some errands after work and came home and watched American Icol and the Dr. Phil prime time special, Love Smart. I also recommend his book, Love Smart; Find the one you want, fix the one you got. and then got online for a bit and now I need to get myself to bed.
I hope ya'll had a great Valentine's Day whatever you did or didn't do. I love ya'll! For those dateless, partnerless, whatever ... I wish you luck and if you find a man, make sure has an attractive brother, friend for me *wink*
