What type of Weather are you?
I think this has some truth to it ....
Updated Employee Handbook
I've seen this before but it still makes me giggle. Does this sound like your place of work? =)
UPDATED EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK
DRESS CODE
Please be advised that you are to report to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing $350 Prada sneakers and carrying a $600 Gucci Bag, we assume you are doing well financially and therefore you do not need a raise. If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better
so that you may buy nicer clothes; therefore you do not need a raise. If you dress in-between, you are right where you need to be and obviously do not need a raise.
SICK DAYS
We will no longer accept a doctor's statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.
PERSONAL DAYS
Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year. They are called Saturday & Sunday.
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend to the arrangements. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.
RESTROOM USE
Entirely too much time is being spent in the restroom. There is now a strict 3 minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the stall door will open and a picture will be taken. After your second offense, your picture will be posted on the
company bulletin board under the "Chronic Offenders" category.
LUNCH BREAK
Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch as they need to eat more, so that they can look healthy. Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure. Fat people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that's all the time needed to drink a Slim Fast.
Thank you for your loyalty to our company. We are here to provide a positive employment experience. Therefore, all questions, comments, concerns, complaints, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations, allegations, accusations, contemplations, consternation, and input should be directed elsewhere.
Have a nice week!

What superhero are you?
CASE'd from Dawnn
Thanks *wink*
I am:

Batman!
Cool, calm and powerful. Whilst your actual super abilities may not be anything too dazzling, you have earnt the respect of both friends and enemies in response to your amazing fighting skills, strategic combat and experience. Luckily you have access to the greens which can fund all your majorly cool gadgets, vehicles and weapons! Also, you're reluctant but still accepting to the idea of having a teammate/side-kick, which just makes everything a whole lotta fun, doesn't it now! On the down side, you've probably suffered some sort of trauma at a young age (that's why we don't talk to the old man near the swings, kids). Similar to the Wolverine, your past is a base for your current motivation, undertaking some kind of personal vow in search of justice. All in all though, you're one tough nut. There's not a lot of people who have the minerals to go up against you, and you're experienced enough not to get cocky and let the little things like never finding happiness get you down!
Take the quiz yourself here: clicky

Ain't no stoppin me now ...
I don't know what my problem was but I could not figure out how to make links on my blogs ... Empress4 and Agent713 can testify to this ... I was having a heck of a time doing it.
Finally tonight I decided this is it ... I'm not getting up until I get this. In preparation for that I brought a sweater, snacks and a cherry coke.
10 minutes later I have links ... amazing what determination will do to you!
Now I'm off to find more things to link =)

*Grrrrrrr*
Today at work I have project time, which is a full 8 hour day, or more if I stay late, of time to get caught up on my projects I have going. I've been on a huge, ongoing project for the Knowledgebase and web self-service project so some of my other projects have been bumped down the ladder of priority.
I had all my plans laid out last night before I left of what I wanted to do and came in this morning energized (well as much as I can be for 8:30 in the morning ...) and ready to get to work.
I get logged in, go to bring up our existing knowledgebase that could .... and the server is down! My whole morning and most of my afternoon was built around this, updating articles, publishing new articles and doing major housekeeping because some people have issue with certain numbers of articles because of connotations with those numbers ... I thought we were all adults but that is a separate vent.
So instead my whole day is shot to you-know-where and I am having to work on other things ... most of which are still built around the knowledge base taht I cannot access! I've done some work on smaller tasks I have, finished a couple of them, did extensive testing for a new release coming out next month and have one big project to do but I need to pull some stuff from the knowledgebase that is STILL DOWN.
I just want to go home and start other again. Plus tomorrow and Friday I have meetings off and on most of the day so I won't be productive and was counting on today to get my stuff done. I'm so annoyed right now.
I need to go and find new cheese since my cheese got moved due to servers being down, but I am more content to sit and whine for a bit ... thanks for listening =)

Weekend in review, thus far
I've had a pretty uneventful weekend thus far. Friday afternoon at work I was in a meeting across the street that went till after 5:30 so I came back over to my building and worked till 8 to get some things done for a deadline for the meeting ... and hopefully will get the rest done Monday morning.
Saturday I went and ran a few errands and saw Brokeback Mountain with Paul and Donna ... or as Paul calls the movie, the gay cowboy love story movie. I thought it was a good movie. You leave it feeling kind of sad, I didn't cry or anything but I felt a little down. It has a good storyline and keeps going and isn't too slow or dragging but it's definitely not a feel good movie. The acting was really good so I can see why it is already winning awards and the scenery and the mountains were beautiful. I am glad I saw it, I just can't see it as a movie I own and that I would watch alot. If you are thinking about seeing it, I say go for it. I felt my money was well spent.
Sunday so far I have gone to tan. I was feeling a little winter blah so I decided to lay under some UV lamps and try and perk up a bit ... plus never to early to start thinking about summer =) and did some laundry and have been on here since. I need to get off the computer and do some major photo sorting. I'm waiting for the Seattle Seahawks playoff game to start soon ... I don't like football but if they win this game they go the Super Bowl so I am kinda excited even though I don't really understand the game *lol* I plan to take my 2 Power Sort boxes and 2 Mini Power Sort boxes and photos yet to be sorted and do some serious work on that. I have decided to organize them in their compartments by projects to keep it easier. I have about a half dozen album projects started, ongoing, or still in my mind. My plan is to do that tonight.
Nothing really exciting so I will post again later!
Take care ya'll.

Friendship Poem
I got this from a good friend and had to post it because it cracked me up!
Wishing ya'll a happy Friday!
Are you tired of all those sissy "friendship" poems that always sound
good, but never actually come close to reality? Well, here is a series
of promises that really speaks to true friendship:
1. When you are sad - I will help you get drunk and plot revenge
against the sorry bastard who made you sad.
2. When you are blue - I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.
3. When you smile - I will know you finally got laid.
4. When you are scared - I will rag on you about it every chance I
get.
5. When you are worried - I will tell you horrible stories about how
much worse it could be and to quit whining.
6. When you are confused - I will use little words.
7. When you are sick - Stay the hell away from me until you are well
again. I don't want whatever you have.
8. When you fall - I will point and laugh at your clumsy ass.
Remember: A good friend will help you move. A really good friend will
help you move a body. Let me know if I ever need to bring a shovel.

Reality Television
I am addicted to Reality TV shows. I always knew I watched alot of it but I really realized it last night when I was watching American Idol. I watch way too many reality shows. I don't know what it really is for me but I think it is a combination of the drama, the craziness (read: stupidity) of people, the destinations and just the what people will do/go through for a shot at money.
I started making a mental list of reality shows I watch and I didn't realize how many I do watch on a regular basis when they are on!
Survivor
Amazing Race
Big Brother
The Bachelor/Bachelorette
American Idol
Dancing with the Stars
The Apprentice
Real World (not religiously)
And most likely tonight, Skating with the Stars. I also used to watch The Mole when it was on and was upset when it went away. Plus other short lived ones along the way like Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire, My big fat obnoxious fiance and probably a few more.
And it's just like watching a train wreck sometimes, you can't not watch them.
I'm sure I'm not alone in my reality television watching .... or at least I hope I'm not =)

Copied ... because it's just what ya do :)
I saw this on Agent713's blog and she got it from Toemi and then I saw it on VeronicainAus's blog so I decided to take it ... and I'm sure this isn't the last of it.

2. Never in my life: Have I learned to swim.
3. When I was five: I was in Kindergarten and became a big sister.
4. High School was: A big party, academically easy but I never applied myself. Socially easy too.
5. My parents are: American. Never lived outside the state of Washington.
6. I once met: Kenny Chesney =) (you knew that was going to be my answer) *lol*
7. There's this girl I know who: Once ran away from home and went to California.

13. How many days until my birthday?: About 119 but who is counting :)

20. If I won an award, the first person I'd thank would be: The Academy =)
21. Take my advice: The glass can sometimes be half full. You have to look for the small positive thing and it may take time to find but I promise it's there!

Grocery Shopping
I am not a big fan of grocery shopping and I try to put it off as long as I can because of it. I don't like the crowds, the having to haul the bags out to the car, put them in the car, walk a few miles to find a cart corral, then get back to the car and once home haul the bags from the car up the stairs to the house and then unload them. And did I mention the crowds and how something always ends up not ringing up correctly?
Last night I had to go grocery shopping and I was planning to do it prior to going to Dawnn's house for Stephanie's crop but since I slept in so late I didn't have a chance so I thought I would go after the crop. I am at the grocery store at midnight shopping which was not bad, not many crowds, rather peaceful. I also don't shop with a list, if I have a list it just sits in my hand and I forget to look at it. And I am always certain to forget something. Last night I think I got it all.
I go down the cereal aisle as I need another box of Yogurt Burst Strawberry Cheerio's (see prior posting about Cheerio's if you don't know anything about this) and there is no strawberry. All they have is the Vanilla. I stood there a moment and contemplated the Vanilla which I have not tried yet because I'm so stuck on Strawberry. After a few minutes I decided to be a big girl and try something new so I got Vanilla. I haven't opened the box yet but I will tomorrow morning when I bring some to work. I'll let you know what I decide ... vanilla or strawberry :)

Sometimes it is really hard being a daughter....
trying to make your mom listen to you!
Warning: long vent to follow...
So I get on here tonight to check email and write to Heidi who has been waiting probably impatiently for an email back and I see an email in my inbox from my mom titled Car Accident. I immediately stop my spam deleting and open that up ... mom was in a car accident tonight on her way home from school. She said she was at the red light about 8 blocks from home stopped and she was rear ended by someone going probably 35-40mph from what she can estimate and rammed into her and then took off!!! She said it was rush hour and no one stopped to check on her or stop to offer anything and she was so stunned she pulled over to the side and just sat there. I feel so terrible. She said she is already stiff and sore and that the impact threw her forward and then her seatbelt snapped her back.
Right now she and I are instant messaging and she is STRESSING ME OUT! She said the back of the car is damaged pretty bad but the airbags didn't deploy. Thank the Lord she drives a Crown Vic because they are so sturdy but she doesn't want to see the Dr. because she can't afford the co-pay and doesn't want to worry anyone. HELLO you are worrying me! And I'm not even in the same town, let alone state, where I can go and help her out. She's made me resort to typing in CAPS to her. She says she won't get the damage fixed because it will be ok and she's afraid her rates on her insurance will go up. I give up. I've threatened the old "don't make me come out there" and we are still going in circles.
I understand her concern about the car and rates and insurance because their medical is not the best, they have huge co-pays and I wish I could help them with $$$ but I can't because I'm scraping by myself but she won't listen to me. I asked if she talked to her sister (she's in insurance too) and she said she emailed her but she'd wait till tomorrow, etc etc etc. I've never raised my voice to my mom or yelled at her ... even during the teenage years ... but right now I could just scream and yell at her. This is when it really sucks to not live near them because I can't drive over and make her do all this stuff.
I know in the morning she's going to be stiff and miserable but she won't listen to me. I'm going to email her sister and make her talk to her. I have been in a few accidents where I was rear ended, one about 2 blocks from where she just got hit where I was rear ended by someone when I was at a dead stop and I was sore and stiff and had bruises for several weeks and had to get seen.
Once thing I have learned this evening is that I now know who I inherited my stubborn streak from ... my Mom.
I feel better venting now. If you read this and stuck with it, thank you. If not, I don't blame you one bit. I am sure if I were not so emotional over the monthly visitor it wouldn't be as bad but that just compounds it.
Warning: long vent to follow...

The monthly visitor
First of all, thanks for the sympathy and comments. It always helps knowing everyone else deals with it too!
Twin, I'm sorry your visitor arrived today too ... I guess we really are twins. I hope your aunt isn't here with a vengence like mine.
I had never used Thermacare wraps before ... but I went and bought some last night and I have been living with them since. I can't believe I didn't buy these sooner! I am in love with them. The best thing invented since Coldstone Creamery cake batter ice cream!
Today wasn't as bad as yesterday ... although after reading TCOYF I am starting to see signs of impending visitors and different things that were my "warning signs" that I never paid attention to before. Without much TMI here, like a headache I get every month about 3 days before, always thought it was odd. Plus the usual signs but I always attributed the headache to work or lack of caffine ... it's amazing.
Anyhow, I have a small rant to post but I'll reserve another post for it.

Disclaimer:
I have severe cramps to the point of contemplating getting my parts removed and forfeiting having children just to make them go away.
I had to go to the post office this morning.
Disclaimers over ... if you are still reading you must be used to me or not too *skeered* of what's going on.
I knew *it* was going to start and am used to cramps but never to this magnitude. I have never taken a sick day from work because of this problem but actually thought about it this morning. I took some asprin and stocked up the asprin and supplies and came to work. Thankfully my awesome co worker and friend Dawnn had sympathy for me and gave me one of those Thermacare heat pads to try ... so far so good. I am feeling kinda toasty warm so we will see how well this works.
I went to the post office this morning to FINALLY mail my swap borders, 2 albums for 2 trades and the pictures from home I've been sitting on. I knew prices had gone up ... but didn't expect that 1 album with no pages! would be $7.00 to send parcel post, and the other album with pages was $13.00 to send!!!!!!!!! I about died right there in the post office. I was so mad but had no choice because I had to get them out so I did it but have sworn to never ever mail stuff again. I know this will not happen but hey it sounded good at 7:45 this morning!!!! And to think I got out of bed early for that!
Update on the heat pad ... I can really feel it now ... if you want to come touch my belly it's really hot! and not that kind of hot! *lol*
Here's wishin ya'll a better cramp free day!
